The lime (or Limetta) is a fruit tree that is part of the Rutaceae family and has a height that varies between three and five meters: moreover the branches, unlike other citrus fruits, are devoid of thorns, at least in most part of the cases, while the roots have the particularity of developing considerably in depth.
In any case, the leaves of the lime are evergreen and characterized by an intense and shiny green color, presenting an oval shape, with a rounded base and a pointed apex.
The flowers, on the other hand, are white and fragrant, even if they are quite small: the lime, belonging to the category of remontant plants, is a tree that blooms at different times of the year.
The fruit of the lime is made up of a berry, of a size reminiscent of lemon, although slightly smaller, with a peel that has a characteristic green color, but which once the fruit reaches maturity, turns yellow.
