ASK FOR SPECIFIC PRICES, AVAILABILITY and / or QUALITY
This plant, although native to the countries of the Far East, has perfectly adapted to all areas with a temperate climate, such as the Mediterranean regions. It is said that already around the year 1000 bitter orange was widely cultivated in Sicily for therapeutic uses.
Evergreen tree that can reach a height of about 10 meters, with oval-shaped leaves of a nice dark green, shiny on the upper side and lighter on the lower one. At the axil of the leaves it has thorns, the flowers are white, small, delicate and emanate an intense perfume. The fruit is similar to the orange we all know, but smaller and with a darker rind.
The essential oil is extracted with the method of cold pressing of the rind and a liquid of a rather dark yellow color, tending to brown, is obtained, which gives off a dry scent, typical of the rind.
